The short answer

A pectin gummy base is a pre-formulated pectin system that producers heat, deposit into molds, set and finish on their own line. Nordic Pectin supplies Classic, Zero and Fiber bases, with specification sheets and certificates of analysis per lot on request.

How a base fits your process

You bring the equipment and process; the base brings a defined formulation. The general path is heat, deposit, set and finish — always following the batch specification for the system you choose.

  • Heat: cook the base to the target point for your formulation.
  • Deposit: fill squares, rounds or your own tooling with a clean, consistent pour.
  • Set & finish: demold, then sand, sour-powder or wax.

Choosing between Classic, Zero and Fiber

Classic is the traditional sweet pectin base. Zero is a separate pathway for sugar-free finished products, without sugar alcohols in the base. Fiber uses named plant fibers (FOS, tapioca fiber and inulin). The systems are never interchangeable within one recipe.

Formats and documentation

Discuss 10 kg buckets or 500 kg totes. Classic has an unopened shelf life of 12 months at 10–21 °C, subject to the batch specification. Spec sheets and COA per lot are available on request.

Questions buyers ask

Do I need special equipment?

Tell us your cooker, depositor and mold type in the brief. We discuss fit during the sample stage; we do not promise performance on equipment we have not reviewed.

Can I add my own flavour and colour?

Start unflavoured and describe your additions. Suitability depends on the formulation and process.

Which finish should I use?

Classic works with sanding sugar, sour powder or wax. For Zero and Fiber, a wax finish is recommended.
